With 3,000 covered parking spaces, the new car park provides direct access to the terminal and is equipped with the most up to date video surveillance systems.
Milan, 3 February 2011 – Big news at Linate airport, where the new P2 Executive car park was opened today. The biggest car park in the city of Milan, with 3,000 covered parking spaces, the new facility increases Linate airport’s parking capacity by about 1,500 units.
In fact, the new car park is an expansion of the existing parking system at Linate airport, with two elevated walkways that lead directly to the terminal check-in areas. In this way, the facility provides sufficient parking spaces to meet passenger needs, with high quality standards and next generation video surveillance and security systems.
Particular care was taken with the design of the interior entrance and exit lanes for each level and the connections between levels, with spiral-shaped ramps whose shape characterizes the structure. The new infrastructure consists of 6 floors above ground in addition to ground level, with access to the upper floors provided by four stairwells and two semicircular car ramps. In addition, the structure features 4 large elevators.
The total construction cost for the facility was 26 million euro.
The completion of the new car park is the last part of a comprehensive project involving the reorganization of the entire " Park&Fly" car park complex at Linate airport, carried out by Sea - Aeroporti di Milano, whose objective is the expansion and renewal of the image of the services offered by the airport.
At Linate, passengers will now be able to choose between the P1 Top Class car park, with 800 parking spaces, directly linked to the check-in area and all equipped with a luminous availability signal and an audio network, or the new P2 Executive car park, with 3,000 covered parking spots, the largest car park in Milan, also linked directly to the check-in area. There is also the P3 Long Term car park, with 1,200 covered and open-air parking spaces, dedicated to vacationers leaving their vehicles at the airport for longer periods.
Comfort, exclusive services and an ample choice of parking spaces are combined with competitively low rates to meet the different needs of business and leisure customers departing and arriving at Linate airport.
The project required some modifications in the access roads to the car parks. A new traffic circle was built, as well as a new link to the Rivoltana provincial road, designed to allow vehicles to leave the airport grounds more rapidly.
